Pro Sports Wrap - Sports Personality of the Day: Bill Belichick

2/2011 WR Rankings

February 2nd 2011 14:50
It's time to rank the guys that help out the QBs the most. There are some surprises on this list, so be aware.

1. Larry Fitzgerald
2. Andre Johnson
3. Reggie Wayne
4. Roddy White
5. Brandon Marshall
6. Calvin Johnson
7. Greg Jennings
8. NYG Steve Smith
9. Mike Wallace
10. Hakeem Nicks
11. CAR Steve Smith
12. Marques Colston
13. Anquan Boldin
14. Santonio Holmes
15. Miles Austin
16. Jeremy Maclin
17. Sidney Rice
18. DeSean Jackson
19. Dez Braynt
20. TB Mike Williams
21. Brandon Lloyd
22. Austin Collie
23. Santana Moss

24. Vincent Jackson
25. Wes Welker
26. Dwayne Bowe

The top seven players are the elites. There is decent receiver depth, but there is a lop off in quality after the first nine.

I agree with Larry Fitzgerald at No.1, although I think I might have Greg Jennings a spot or two higher -- although you note the top seven are the elites.

And I always thought the guys that helped out the quarterback the most were the offensive line.

I have to agree with you on Larry Fitzgerald being at the top. Not only is that guy an outstanding player but he does not show boat, he does great things for for people out of footbal to go along with being very well educated. Listen to his interviews he is very profesional. Good Call on this list.

Fitzgerald was always one of my favorite players. I love all the guys out of Pitt, like LeSean McCoy. When they were in the draft, those were two guys I was really high on- Pittsburgh bias. But they have turned out well you must concur? Jeff, that's debatable. I think the number one receiver on a team affects the quarterback more than the left tackle, but it is really close.
