Wimbledon Gentlemen’s Round 4 Results
Lleyton Hewitt made Roger Federer work a little bit for his three set win on Monday. My pick of four sets was just a little off. Mario Ancic not only made it through, but took five sets to do it as I picked, winning the final set 13-11. Marat Safin also made it through as I expected, he needed four sets to do it, I picked three. It took five sets, but Feliciano Lopez upset #10 Marcos Baghdatis. I was totally wrong with that pick.
The match I was really looking forward to isn’t going to happen. Janko Tipsarevic, and Marin Cilic each lost their matches. Instead the match up in the quarters will be Rainer Schuettler vs. Arnaud Clement facing off to see who plays Nadal. Nadal only needed three sets instead of the four I had picked to get past Mikhail Youzhny. I picked the Andy Murray match perfectly, it took him five sets to down Richard Gasquet, and he made it extremely dramatic for the crowd. He was actually atop one of the photographer’s stands trying to get the crowd more into the match at one point.
It was an exciting day, and things should only get better leading up to the finals.
