Serbian #2, and Croat Cilic Advance
Janko Tipsarevic needed two tie-breaks but advanced in straight sets against #25 seed Dmitry Tursunov. Croatia’s Marin Cilic also needed two tie-breaks in four sets to get past #14 Paul-Henri Marhieu. Those two wins assures that an unseeded player will make it into the Semi-Finals. It also sets up what I fell is going to be an outstanding match between Tipsarevic and Cilic. They will have to get past German Rainer Schuettler, and Frenchman Arnaud Clement first though.
On the other side there are four seeded players remaining. Rafa cruised through his match in straight sets, while Richard Gasquet and Andy Murray each needed four sets to advance. Mikhail Youzhny of Russia needed fives sets, in which he lost two tie-breaks, to get past Czech Radek Stepanek. The match came to a close as darkness fell upon The All England Club, after a delay near the end for a possible wrist injury to Stepanek.
It is shaping up to be a great second week of tennis action in England!
I can't wait to see Janko Tipsarevic play Marin Cilic. I certainly hope they both make it through Monday.
