Raiders New Receiver Javon Walker Hospitalized in Vegas
Javon Walker who signed a six-year, $55-million contract with the Oakland Raiders this offseason and is slated to be their #1 wideout was found unconscious on a Las Vegas street early Monday morning. He was rushed to the Sunrise Medical Center’s Trauma unit. He is listed in fair condition, but has an orbital fracture. It was reported that he was seen at “Tryst at the Wynn”, a popular nightspot in Vegas where he had ordered 15 bottles of Dom Perignon Rose champagne, some of which he used to spray the crowd with. It is believed he was a victim of a robbery.
Walker was a former first round draft pick (#20 overall) of the Green Bay Packers, a team he played four seasons with. He was traded to the Denver Broncos last season, but was limited to playing in just 8 games and 26 receptions for 287 yards due to a knew injury. In his previous season with the Packers he was a 1,000 yard receiver though.
------------------------
Apparently Walker was indeed beaten and robbed. He told police he had $3,000 in cash stolen, as well as $100,000 in jewelry taken. Police are investigating and have a surveillance video showing a vehicle and two suspects. At this time they do not know the identities of these men. Police also stated that there were no reports of any incidents at the club Walker was at prior to the attack. They believe he was alone at the time of the attack.
Walker's injuries are now being listed as a moderate concussion, and significant injuries to his face.
