Hoffman Notches 600th SV

Fresh on the island, I'm going to say it. The Phillies are going to win their division. I don't see the Braves pushing past the surge of Philadelphia. This is a team to be reckoned with when September starts. They have the lead, and they certainly aren't going to give it back. Just ask the New York Mets. Shane Victorino is a man on a mission.
Adam Dunn wants a four year deal with the Washington Nationals. Right now, he has a two year deal worth 20 million. A nice contract extension should be in the works for one of the league's premier power hitters. Dunn's 34 homers and 91 RBIs lead the team. There is no other player in the 30s or 90s in those respective categories. Only Albert Pujols and Jose Bautista have more dingers on the year. Dunn's goal is to stay in one place and finally have a long term deal.
Jeff Weaver wants to play one more season in the majors. Weaver would like to remain with the Dodgers. I think the Dodgers should keep him due to the lack of their pitching depth. He is a decent arm when the injury bug strikes. He isn't a good pitcher anymore, but the old man still knows how to win games.
I sincerely hope that Rocco Baldelli keeps playing. He is a solid outfielder with decent pop and he can really help a team off the bench. Hopefully he solidifies that and gets a nice deal in the offseason.
Trevor Hoffman tallied his 600th save yesterday; the most in MLB history. He is also the first person to reach 600. However, he isn't the best closer in history. No matter how many saves he gets, Mariano Rivera is clearly the number one. Second fiddle to the great Rivera is no easy feat either. Congratulations to Trevor Hoffman for achieving such a feat!
